This SSD is not compatible with M.2 SSD slot in Lenovo Ideapad S145. I had to return this.
For ideapad s145 M.2 SSD type that you need is the M.2 PCIe3x4 not the M.2 SATA ( this product ) Type because it may fit but the number of pins does not match. There are many questions for compatibility with S145, many answered, “Yes”, but answer is No.

got wd green 240gb @ rs3348 (but now april 2019 it is priced @2500), seq. read speed are around 500 Mbps and seq. write speeds are above 300 Mbps.
it is worth it and for a average user like me, the wd green 240gb is a far better choice than wd blue the only reason someone should go for wd blue when they need more than 240gb of space and still wd blue is somewhat cheaper than samsung evo ssds
i bought this for my acer nitro 5 amd ryzen 5 edition

i want to say one thing only that i will always prefer to do a fresh install of the os onto the ssd than doing migration from hdd
cause sometimes u may experience problems after migration and get more free space
besides its a ssd and it will take about the same time and also with windows bootable usb the bios will automatically inset the windows 10 product key (well in my case) during installation

Got the 240 GB latest version for around 3200 on sale for my Acer Swift 3 (Ryzen 5 processor). Earlier the HDD was slower and it was really irritating to work on softwares like Adobe photoshop, Lightroom etc. After installing this it’s really fast. Boot time also improved a lot. It’s a good one to start with. But not upto the mark as Samsung(but the price is almost double/triple for that). Comparison posted between SSD and HDD(Toshiba)

The price was great but getting it to work initially was difficult. It doesnt state that if using pcie or sata to connect that you need a m + b adaptor most are just m or b not both anyway after 3 purchases of pci cards that I wouldn’t recognise itself in I used a m.2 to sata convertor with m&b it finally worked. I was using it to speed up an old gaming rig to be used for basic gaming for my nephew. I must say I am very disappointed with the speed. I have a cheap non brand sata ssd on my laptop which really out performs this. And to be honest I dont see much difference between this and my 2 x 1g data hdd drive both barracudas which run at 3gbps the ssd says it has speeds of 6gbps but performing benchmarks and tests it’s not the case in reality it runs from 2.5 gbps to 4gbps. If your looking to buy this as a speed increase dont use an alternative m.2 nvme or a sata 3 ssd. But for the price it works fine and sure will be reliable being WD. So it does its job but dont expect a big boost in speed.

Having purchased a good value laptop for my son to use for schoolwork, we found that the 32GB of storage, whilst good for doing the basics and his school stuff, just wasn’t enough for things like backing up his photo’s from the phone and general storage of programs etc. Hence this purchase.
This is a pretty phenomenal product for under £29. It has increased the storage that’s available by over 7x. It took less than 5 minutes to fit, initialise the new drive and be up and running.
If you are at all wary of installing your own M.2 SSD, don’t be. As long as you get the right size and type, it’s a doddle. Watch my video to see just how quick and easy it was to install. A big recommendation
The only thing I will say about this WD Green, is that it is intended to be low power. So not the fasted SSD in the world but will also conserve the battery on you device….

Great buy @3.3k and was the cheap & easy way to speed up my laptop.
I installed it on my acer aspire 5 and used easeUS partition master to clone my boot drive onto the ssd.
when I turned on the laptop I was in the lockscreen in about 15 sec.
App launches are snappy and you can feel that the system is more responsive overall.
Packaging was good and arrived in time.
    Buy it when its hot.

The product is amazing. Only problem is searching for the screw as it is not included.
For me the SCREW of A Pencil SHARPENER worked

I’ve been using WD green drives since a long time now. I recently wanted to try out this m.2 ssd for my sister’s new Asus vivobook. The startup & app loading times were boosted by 50% and I’m totally impressed. I cloned the boot drive to the ssd & converted the original mechanical hard disk as a secondary storage device.

Boot times reduced to 15 secs, transfer rates were above 150mbps. I’m impressed.

Only caveat is installation of the m.2 drive on a laptop is challenging. I advise amateurs to visit a service centre for installation.

Final thoughts – a worthy upgrade indeed.

  12. Mike’s Unboxing, Reviews and How To

I bought this drive for a budget intel coffee lake build and the option of not having extra cables for power and data appealed to me in the case i was using to keep it looking clean and clutter free.
I this regard it was fantastic, very easy to install and looked really good in the chosen space on the motherboard.
This is where it starts going wrong. The system was built and installed Windows 10, then it was time for benchmarks. I bought the drive in bit of a hurry an didn’t research it much, if at all. It was purely a price that seemed great so i went for it.
After a few benchmarks i noticed that something didn’t quite add up. My system seemed a little slow? And after using various drive testing programs it seemed that the drive wasn’t pushing through as much data as i thought it should.
So i looked up the specs and this drive is actually on paper a lot slower than a lot of other drives on the market. The WD green is a power saving device, and it saves power by efficient use of it circuits. Basically doing everything slower.

So if you want a m.2 drive for the above reasons then get it. But if you want the same or better performance than your older SSD’s then you need to spend more money or look at a different brand.
It is a great price, but i couldn’t give it 5 stars as the speed issue is a little sneaky in my opinion. Overall i am disappointed, but should have done my homework.

My built-in Toshiba M.2 SSD failed and I didn’t know much about SSDs. Bought this and regretted it extremely. My 1 TB HDD was faster than this. USB 3.0 pen drives are faster. It’s an insult to SSD technology. This is of a very low quality. I hated it and returned it. I got the Samsung 860 EVO. It’s the best you can get in this price range. It has better performance than my previous built-in SSD. If you want to buy a SATA SSD, don’t buy anything other than the 860 EVO.
